This spring, we’re proud to showcase Almond Road, the dedicated gluten-free bakery that’s become a total legend in our stores and cafés for one very delicious reason:

their bread is ridiculously good.

Mullumbimby, Almond Road has been keeping the gluten-free dream alive since 2014. What started as a humble bakehouse has grown into a team of 14 passionate early birds who rise in the wee hours (we’re talking pre-coffee o’clock) to handcraft gluten free, preservative-free, wholesome loaves that are baked fresh and shipped the same day.

Small batch? Absolutely.

Big flavour? You bet.

Almond Road’s mission is simple: bread that makes people feel good. And they mean everyone. Their lineup includes unique paleo and lectin-free breads, vibrant turmeric loaves, and their wildly popular banana bread that has a cult following (yes, us - we’re the cult).

You’ll find their breads on the shelves at all our Market Organics stores and featured in our MO Wholefood Cafés - both in the cabinet and on our menus. One of our go-to ways to enjoy it? A Mediterranean toastie packed with roast veggies, punchy pesto, and a crumble of YAY feta. It’s a vibe.

Sustainably Baked, Locally Rooted

It’s not just what Almond Road makes - it’s how they make it that matters. They’ve built strong relationships with local farmers and share their kitchen scraps - everything done to the banana peels are utilised. It's a beautiful little circle of nourishment, and it’s the kind of sustainability we love to support.

General Manager Dave Johnson is a local legend. He’s passionate about creating meaningful jobs and has built a team that’s as real, kind, and hardworking as the community they serve - and that heart shows in every loaf.
